The Darcos Season is a unique and benchmark initiative in the Portuguese classical music scene. With artistic direction by composer and conductor Nuno Côrte-Real, the Darcos Season has been running since 2008. In addition to performances by the Ensemble Darcos chamber group, the program usually features acclaimed national and international soloists and orchestras, as well as the participation of prominent figures from the Portuguese national artistic scene.

 

Throughout the season, the Ensemble Darcos, one of the leading national chamber music groups, remains in artistic residence at the Teatro-Cine de Torres Vedras, in the western region of Lisbon district. The Darcos Season has been presenting nationally and internationally renowned musicians and orchestras, making a decisive contribution to the promotion of chamber and symphonic music in the Portuguese territory, as well as promoting internationally cultural exchange.
